Woocommerce E-Mails sent twice

    Hello,

    If I create a new order the order confirmation is always sent twice. I believe this is the case because if I check the order events, Woocommerce creates the order completion event twice and therefore the email gets triggered twice. What could be the issue here? I already tried to deactivate all plugins and check compatibility issues, but the problem is still there.

    To try and understand what could be happening, could you please install this WP Mail Log plugin and place a test order, do you see all the emails appear in the log?

    Do they appear differently, or exactly the same?

    thanks a lot for the reply. I just installed the plugin and had a look. Yes the email gets send twice and is exactly identical. As you can see, two go to the customer and two to the admin.

    Just to confirm, this happens to every order, correct? Regardless of payment gateway, products purchased, customer, etc.

    Also to confirm, when you tried the conflict test you deactivated all plugins but WooCommerce (and no other exception) and switched to a default theme such as Storefront and the issue persisted, right?

    Thanks, I just tested again and was able to identify the root cause. So as it seems the Stripe Payment Extension is responsible for this. If I use another payment gateway, I don’t receive the email twice. And if I check the order notes processed with Stripe, I can see that the payment event is there twice which I think causes that the order is set to completed twice and therefore Woocommerce send the email twice as well. However, in my Stripe account I can see that it only charges the amount once.

    I am also getting this on a new site.

    Similar to the orignal post, our site also uses stripe and woocommerce.

    Also it is hosted on siteground and use the the siteground plugins:
    Speed Optimizer
    Security Optimizer

    The site also has HPOS enabled.
