I’m using the Flexishop 2 premium theme by PrimaThemes (https://www.wpflexishop.com/codex/wpflexishoptwo/) which uses the Woocommerce (https://wcdocs.woothemes.com/) plugin to handle the shop functionality.

Everything is fine except the fact that email receipts/notifications are not send to either the customer placing the order or the admin. However, when the order has been placed by the user I can see it in the order list in Woocommerce where the status by default is set to “pending”. When I change the status of the order to “In progress” the email receipt and notification is send to both customer and admin.

But I need the receipt to be send out to the customer and admin immediately after the order has been placed so I don’t have to login to my WordPress backend and check for new orders. Otherwise, it may cause confusion for the customer if the receipt is not received immediately.

How can I do this? It seemed to be working fine some time ago.. Alternatively, how can I change the default order status in woocommerce to “In progress” so the receipt gets send immediately?

  • I’m glad to hear I am not the only one. I LOVED setting up WooCommerce and the site is ready to launch. But this problem is huge and I can’t launch the client’s site until it is functional. ??

I also, got it working after unistalling a few plugins!

Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! It works! Although I have tried Deactivating and Reactivating the plugin several times…today when I tried it…it works now! WooHoo! I hope everyone else finds their issue resolved too! ??

It would be really helpful to everyone else still having this problem if the people that found a solution would be more specific on how the solved it, like which plugins they uninstalled or deactivated.

I have the same problem. You mean the woocommerce plugin? I tried deactivating and reactivating it but still it doesn’t work

Looks like the guys on this thread are on the right track and might have a solution

    Hi,

I’m trying to figure out how long does it take for Paypal to receive your payment? Is it not immediate? I did not even know someone purchased something from me. I just recently set my site up with Woocommerce with Paypal being the only payment option and someone bought something from me 3 days ago. I didn’t receive an e-mail and Paypal hasn’t received their payment. What should I do?

    Thanks for any help,
    Ashley

Found out that the customer must’ve abandoned the order because I have since been receiving payments.

Do we have an answer yet or where it the new thread as this isnt resolved for me too.

Have updated woocommerce too 1.6.5 and orders go to processing IPN goes without errors. (I have double notes now in the order tho)

No emails go out, yet WP is able to send email.

Really hope there is an answer somewhere.. this is my last hurdle to go live.

I am just doing a new setup, and was having this problem. I would get inventory notification emails “all my items are special order so everything is backorder” which I had set to go to my standard email account “not the business account which sends the emails” but I would not get the new order notification emails, which I had set to my business email address. I changed the notification emails to my standard email address now I get them right with the inventory notification emails.

Another point though is I have been placing fake orders with my admin login which uses the business email address so I am getting customer order notification emails in that address. It just has something to do with new order notification emails and having that address be the same as your sending address apparently. Or that’s what the problem is in my case.

Maybe this will help somone figure out how to fix it, would like to get the new order notification emails via my business email adress because it makes it a lot easier to forward them back to the customer if I want to update them about the order.

oh btw this is all for check or cash orders no paypal or anything, just woocommerce bug.

found the edit key you can delete this post mods.

Does anyone have the issue of the notifications not being sent when an image is added to the email?

Any ideas how to fix this?

    Thanks!

Has anyone gotten an answer to this issue? It seems to be an on-going issue with WooCommerce sending out emails when orders are completed.

    Hey @notomo,

I have the same issue, I don’t get any e-mails that are related with the orders, but I get stock notifications and standard WP e-mails (like reset password, new users etc.).

I tried setting up the same e-mail address everywhere but this still hasn’t solved the issue for me. Even with setting up WP-Mail-SMTP plugin with the same e-mail address (gmail settings) nothing changes.

I even changed 2 hosts for this reason to no avail. If this is not a woocommerce bug, then what is?? What else could I change to make this thing work?
