    Hi,

    I am looking to change the attributes of my products. I exoprted from woocommerce, to a csv file and opened up in excel. I just changed one product name, to test it.

    When I tried to import, the csv file lost its format. It is not as supposed to be and has much more rows, with the information clustered on different rows.

    Any suggestions, why this can happen, or what the alternatives are?

    You can’t post a localhost url here. Nobody will be able to view it. They’ll only be able to view their local installs if they’re using MAMP.

    What plugin are you using to import/export? The built in one from WooCommerce or the CSV Suite?

    @7acestech A quick thing you can check is the format that the file was saved in. If you are using the built-in importer/exporter tool, note that it only supports files in the .CSV format. You will want to check that this is indeed the format in which the new file was saved.

    Microsoft Excel has also been known for not formatting correctly CSV files. We’d recommend using different software to make changes on your CSV file. You can try using Google Sheets, which I’ve seen it work well in the past and is a free toold.

    @fernando

    That is the issue. Thank you.
    Excel is not formatting correctly, when I saved it.

    With that said, I would like to ask, how come there is no “Store” field in the export?
    Is there a different plugin you suggest so the store field exists in the export?

    Hi Guys
    I am having a similar issue, but it only seems more stranger. I exported the products using built-in export. I removed all the products in the cart and tried importing the same file back in. I made no changes to it, uploaded it as it was.
    The products were, Simple products and some Variable products.
    It imported the products in, but there are no Attributes or variations to them.
    Can someone help.
    Thanks
    Ben

    Okay, All Good.
    I had ticked both (Existing products that match by ID or SKU will be updated. Products that do not exist will be skipped. Use previous column mapping preferences?). When i un-ticked them and uploaded the file it worked fine.
    Thanks

    @7acestech,

    I’m not sure what you’re referring to as far as a “Store” field. Can you shed some more light on what you mean here?

    @net9, glad to hear you’ve figured it out.

    Hi
    I worked it out, it was me not doing the right thing.

    is there a way to add an image here? Please let me know how.

    I will try to explain :

    Lets say you have WCFM and Woocommerce installed.

    If you go to products in the dashboard and to a single product, there will be a Store field on the left bar. Where the products’ store is saved. With WCFM the product store is basically the website user.

    @7acestech and @net9 are you the same person?

    Thank you @7acestech

    @net9 In the future, please don’t hijack someone else’s support request.

    @7acestech,

    Since the field you’re trying to add content to doesn’t exist natively within WooCommerce, it makes sense that the import/export feature wouldn’t account for it

    It sounds like what you’re dealing with here is a uniquely WCFM issue.

    I’d recommend reaching out to them here – https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/wc-frontend-manager/
