    I actually use to use Dreamhost for a personal site and they’re not too bad. Not sure about ecommerce though. Your host is going to be completely dependent on how much traffic you anticipate coming to your site. We went with AWS because it gives us a lot of freedom with our server so we can fine tune it to our needs. You definitely need to know what you’re doing with AWS though since everything gets set up from scratch.

    My update for the slowness I was experiencing:

    For the past week, the server my site is on suffered from a severe DDoS attack which was finally resolved by my hosting company.

    Response time is very fast now.
