My site started doing the same thing it looks like in March. It lasted about a month and its generating 5% off coupon codes. They are single usage codes that I just noticed and there are about 60 of them. Do you have any idea what might be causing that so suddenly and why they might have stopped? None were used and I haven’t deleted them just in case they are needed for documentation.

    Hello marcschank

Thank you for contacting Woo support.

To confirm, your site has about 60 coupons (offering a 5% discount) that were not created by you.
When you refer to March, do you mean this also happened then?

Could you share screenshots of these coupons?

I’d like to review your site’s System Status Report.
You can find it via WooCommerce > Status.
Select Get system report and then Copy for support.

Once you’ve done that, you can paste the text in https://gist.github.com
After that, you can paste the Gist link here in your reply.

Looking forward to your response. ??

    Best regards.

    Hi @marcschank

Just a quick heads up—if you respond directly from your email, we won’t see your reply on the forum. Could you kindly share the specific information we need to investigate this issue further? We’re particularly interested in the System Status Report and screenshots of your coupons. We appreciate your help!

Do you have any idea what might be causing that so suddenly and why they might have stopped?

It could be due to a plugin or an active extension on your site. Sometimes, third-party plugins can create such issues if they have the capability to generate coupon codes.

The generation of codes might have stopped due to an update in your plugins or theme or a change in your site’s settings.

I hope this provides some clarity. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

    In answer to your questions:

To confirm, your site has about 60 coupons (offering a 5% discount) that were not created by you. When you refer to March, do you mean this also happened then?? Yes it began in March 2024 and ended on April 14, 2024.

Here is the link to the github if I did it correctly. Im not sure where to attach the screenshots since I don’t have them hosted anywhere that a URL attachment will work.

    ?? hi @marcschank

Thank you for reaching back, with further details on this.

While investigating the site’s System Status Report (SSR), while a separate coupon plugin is not installed, it appears there is a high number of failed actions (2,827).

Also, WooCommerce Database Version: 8.8.3 – Kindly update the WooCommerce database to the same (8.9.0) version (best update both to version 8.9.2 – the latest at the time of writing this), using the dedicated button found in the screen at?‘WooCommerce > Status > Tools’.

Im not sure where to attach the screenshots

Here are a few free options:

    Hello,

I updated the database to 8.9.2. When you say ‘best to update both’ what other did you mean? Also when you say “failed actions” do you mean failed orders? And by pointing it out what is wrong with having them or the fix to stop it? Im at a loss as to what you are getting at. Thanks.

    Hey, @marcschank!

I updated the database to 8.9.2. When you say ‘best to update both’ what other did you mean??

Your WooCommerce plugin was 8.9, and your database was 8.8.3. Having these not match can cause issues. So it is really important to update so they matched.
You could simply update the database to 8.9. But what my colleague suggested was making sure both WooCommerce plugin and the data base were on the latest version, which is 8.9.2.
It seems this was what you did, correct?

Also when you say “failed actions” do you mean failed orders?

No, we mean Scheduled Actions. You can check those at WooCommerce > Status > Scheduled actions.

Can you please also share screenshots of the last few actions that failed? On the page I shared you will see an option to show only failed actions ??

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Have a wonderful day!
