I have a WooCommerce store and I want to add one functionality related to product grouping (the options built into WooCommerce work differently).

EXAMPLE HOW IT’S SUPPOSED TO WORK: There are 3 products in the store (T-SHIRT S / T-SHIRT M / T-SHIRT L) and they are separate products, without variants, each size should be one separate product (simple product). I want these products to be combined / grouped but redirecting to different subpage.
EXAMPLE: When you enter “T-SHIRT S” in the store, next to the ‘add to cart’ button, remaining products from this group should be displayed as pick options but redirecting to different subpages. Like in the link I am enclosing.

The operation is to be very similar to the product with variants (size selection S / M / L) but they are supposed to be separate products – not as one product with variants.

Thanks in advance for any help!

  • Hello @theszafran,

I understand that, the goal is to show each sizes as a separate product. In this case i’d still suggest you to keep the sizes as one variable product. Instead you can use plugin like “Variations as Single Products for WooCommerce” as the name suggest, this will list all your variations as it’s own product yet keeping them as a variable product in the backend.

    Cheers!
    Naz.

Thanks for your answer! It would help indeed but my products are already added as single products and I want to avoid adding them all over again as variable products. What’s most important – products need to stay in the panel as single products due to external integrations. Do you happen to have another solution to that?

    Hi @theszafran

Thanks for sharing the detailed description.

Per your original requirement, the Variations as Single Products for WooCommerce extension suggested by Naz is the perfect fit.

However, as you stated that it is essential for the products to remain as single products, we need to look for a different way out.

WooCommerce has inbuilt features to display related products in a number of ways. This documentation will help you understand and explore the possibilities: https://woocommerce.com/document/related-products-up-sells-and-cross-sells/

Grouped Products could also be a good solution in this case. Each one is a single product, yet a part of a group. Here is an example of a grouped product:

For Product Data you’ll need to select Grouped product. You can read more here about setting it up: https://woocommerce.com/document/group-bundle-products-woocommerce/#section-11

I hope you find these helpful!

We’ve not heard back from you in a while, so I’m marking this thread as resolved. Hopefully, the above info was helpful.
