WooCommerce How to make Product Categories widget expandab

I am trying to add accordion functionality to the WooCommerce Products plugin, so far unsuccessfully. jQuery Accordion Menu might have been an option, but that plugin appears to be unsupported now.

I’ve also reviewed this earlier post, https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/how-to-make-product-categories-widget-expandablecollapsable?replies=3. If that jQuery code is the answer, then would need some more explicit instructions how to integrate it into my own theme.

Any help would be appreciated.
