• Having just installed Woocommerce to a DIVI child theme, I note that it breaks the Appearance > Editor window.

Selecting an item to edit, I can see the file options down the right column of the page, but the edit window style.css functions.php etc, drops down to the bottom of the page as it is now too wide to fit into the space between the left menu and the right menu.

Anyone else seen this behaviour, got any fix suggestions.

Firebug lets me change template text area width from its (default) wrong value of 97%, to a more reasonable 88% which moves the editor window back to where it should be.

    Hi @robmcp,

I happen to have a client site that is Divi, so I just installed WooCommerce to see if I could replicate the issue, and it doesn’t happen to me.

From what I see, the textarea is set at 97% wide, but the container div also has a right margin of 190px, which allows it to float up to the left of the right column (which is 190px wide).

There may be something else, either in your child theme or a plugin, that is making one of the two columns there wider than they should be.

Thanks ~Jesse, I was beginning to wonder if there was no-one here.

I appreciate your input. You say that you are using DIVI, is that with a child theme? (Mine has a child them on it)
I did check my text area, and it is also set at 97%, it’s only when I bring it down to 88% or so that it fits.

My next step is probably to turn off plugins one at a time to see if that cures it.

    Regards, Rob.

    No problem, Rob.

Yes, I was using a child theme, as well. Most likely part of your child theme or a plugin was causing the containing div to be too large, I’d start by looking there in your browser inspector. From there you can tell where it’s coming from.

Sorry I took so long to reply, holidays and all ??

Thanks Jesse, (No O/D on Turkey I hope? )

What I plan to do is to copy the site to a test hosting area, then turn off plug ins one by on until this (hopefully) works.

Might be a while before I reply (holidays too) but if I do find an answer I will post to this trail, if you’re monitoring it you’ll see how I got on, or not…

No, no OD on turkey ??

I’m thinking it must be a plugin that’s doing it, definitely post your results.
