• Hi there!

Just tried to install Woocommerce on a website, but the problem is that Woocommerce language is English, but the rest of the site is Danish. (WP is set to da_DK)

I can see that Woocommerce should automaticly get the right language, but this is not the case.

What can the cause of the problem be?
    The site is: kiselgaarden .dk

    Here is the system status:

  • Even better, I’ve noticed WooCommerce already isntalled a perfect translation in the directory and the word I named here above for example are correctly translated into my language. But the shop cart page is still in english…

Which strings are missing then? Link to site?

I’m hosting the website on my local network for now.

The strings that aren’t getting translated are:

    – Your cart is currently empty.
    – Return To Shop
    – Billing Address
    – Shipping Address
    – Save Address
    – Quantity
    – Total
    – Subtotal
    – Note: Shipping and taxes are estimated and will be updated during checkout based on your billing and shipping information.

For now that’s all I can find that is not getting translated on my website. Still the translations are pressent and correct in the language files WooCommerce installed.

    Hello Mike,

    Thanks for your response.

I downloaded the .mo file, renamed it “woocommerce-da_DK.mo”, placed it in /wp-content/languages/woocommerce and it worked.

Though, when changing the language, all my single-product pages gave me an 404.
I just changed the Product Permalink base and it worked again.

Thank you for your help, I appreciate it.

    Good.

fransboumans check the translate site that they are translated. If they are, you can download the mo file and replace the version you have installed.

If its still not translated, they may be strings from your theme and have a different text-domain.

    fransboumans,

Try to change the woocomerce language file to:
    woocommerce-nl-NL.mo

(Remember to download it as a .mo file)

    Plugin Contributor Mike Jolley (a11n)

    (@mikejolley)

I think that should be: woocommerce-nl_NL.mo. Underscore.

Found it, what you said Mike. It was my theme that also had these strings. Changed some of these strings and everything translated.

So side note to all X Theme users ??

Thanks Mike for being so patient with me! And thanks you Vitago for letting me capturing your thread!

    Dear Mike.

I am getting really frustrated while i’ve been trying all of these oppertunities, but still woocommerce wont translate.

    Please help!

kaptajnnic translation is handled by WordPress. There is nothing WooCommerce specific here!

    https://docs.woothemes.com/document/woocommerce-localization/

That’s true. I have the same problem and guess we need to translate Storefront theme.

    Hey

I tried everything above too and have been frustrated.

BUT – I have just succeeded in installing the .mo and .po file, and to my surprise it was not right to put it in the language folder but in the plugin folder.
    I used FileZilla:
    WP-content / languages / plugins
    I renamed the files to: woocommerce-da_DK.mo / woocommerce-da_DK.po

Hi I am trying to translate but I have been successful, I tried all the methods on top and none worked.

I want to translate to es_Ar. Do you have any clue?

    Best regards,

    Hi, Mike.

I installed Loco Translate plugin, then I selected french in the Settings | General. My active theme has a top menu with My Account and Logout menu items. When selecting woocommerce in Loco Plugins there are translations for My Account and Logout, but they are still displayed in English. Why, is it something I’m missing ?

    Thanks

    Hello Mike,

as I can read the translate is a real issue for many people!

I am also having that same issue although I have added the .mo and .po files ( for fr_FR ) to the plugin folder like stated above.

Everything has been translated correctly EXCEPT for the “Author“.

My site is a Book Store where I indicate the author of each book; example here: https://www.screencast.com/t/uPJwcCI6SoI

Can you please help? What should I do to solve this issue please?
