Thanks for your work on this plugin!

Testing 2.0.3 after having to do a rollback from v2 due to the inventory management problems.

2.0.3 is a step in the right direction, but the key problem is still there for users like me who manage their inventory with WooCommerce as the product system of record.

When the sync direction is WooCommerce -> Square, I need to be able to edit the inventory directly on the website. While I appreciate this is fixed under the ‘do not sync product data’ I will not be able to upgrade to v2 until I can edit my client’s inventory on the site and then have that info overwrite the numbers on Square site.

  • You can do this in 2.0.3. It just isn’t very well-explained. With Woo as the SOR, and the product set to sync with Square, head to the inventory field and click ‘Fetch from Square’. It will pull down the latest number, and then allow you to edit. When you submit, the new number is synced to Square. Pretty nice when you have a physical+online presence, as in the time since I pull up the product to edit, there may have been a sale in the store.

Thanks for clarifying, right okay now I understand how it works.

I would agree its not clear, I would suggest to the developer maybe either changing that text to read something like ‘Fetch current inventory to enable editing’ or better yet have that box automatically fetch when I load the product edit page or maybe when clicking into the inventory tab on the product page. The grey box just makes it look totally disabled.

Edit: I understand maybe the auto update would create problems where the sync is going the wrong direction, but some sort of clarification to show that this feature is not disabled is needed I think.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi,

I’m having the same problem. Will, it looks like you’re on this forum too. I asked the same question on a different forum you started, but then I came across the semi-fix. I say semi because yes, it does finally give you to ability to edit the inventory, but it also updates directly from Square, so if you’ve had a sale on Woocommerce since then, Square overrides that, and then inventory is wrong. Also, I have hundreds of products each with multiple variations (we sell clothes), so going through every variation of every product will take tedious amount of time??

I’ve read on other threads to rollback to version 1.0.38. Has anyone done that here?
