My accountant was preparing my taxes and noticed an odd entry for one day. I had 3 transaction on Feb 16, 2024. All but one transaction did not charged tax. It was the first order of the day and all other following orders were processed normally and taxes deducted.

I confirmed that the item that was order does charge taxes becuase days later some other customer ordered the same item and taxes was applied.

I’m not aware of any changes that happend to the system. Is there something I can check? Logs?

    WooCommerce + Square

    Regards

    Bob

    Hi @byuenwp

It’s unusual that tax wasn’t charged for that particular order. WooCommerce should apply taxes consistently based on your settings. You can check the order details to see if there’s any clue as to why the tax was not applied.

Check the customer’s address and the product details to see if anything could have affected tax calculation.

You can also check the system status logs for any errors. To do so, go to WooCommerce > Status -> Logs. Choose the log that corresponds to the date of the transaction.

If you’re using Square for payments, it might also be worth checking there. Log into your Square dashboard and check the transaction details.
