Update failed

Somehow I can no longer update the itheme security plugin due to permission issues. I haven’t changed anything in the blog, updated the server and also wordpress itself. It still dooesnt work.
I have filed an issue already on wp core but have no response but in case the plugin is the problem I thought I could give it a shot also here.
Version 4.9.0

Disabling Maintenance mode…All updates have been completed.
I hope there is a solution to this where I don’t have to change lots of permission.
