I am trying to create or insert the row of tax rates. After filling in details like the country code etc then saving, it displays ‘No matching tax rates found’. It doesn’t seem to want to save/store the information. Does anyone know what could be causing the issue? Please help.

    Hey @lotusdaniel,

Do you mean that the tax rates have been entered manually into one of the tax tables but those rates are not being used for calculations? Or are the rates being entered but aren’t saving to the database after the “Save” button is clicked (i.e. reloading the tax rate table doesn’t show the rates that were entered previously)?

    Hello Shaun.

    Thank you for your reply.

When we try to add the vat rate 20%/GB into the tax page of woo-commerce settings. we get the reply ” no matching tax rates found”

As a result we cannot automatically apply 20% tax rate any more.

I’e tried different tax rates and different country codes but it appears we cannot add any tax rate to any country.

This did work well and we removed all EU tax codes after BREXIT leaving GB only All worked well then dropped out about 4 weeks ago.

We also have lost the page of countries/codes that we can click on to add them to our system.

your advice will be most welcome.

    regards and thanks

    Hey @lotusdaniel,

    That’s super helpful, thanks!

I think the behavior that you are noticing was part of this Brexit-related change.

I’m certainly no expert on this situation, but from what I can tell, it should be possible to add a tax rate to the core WooCommerce tables by using “GB” as the country code. However, “Great Britain” is not a country option on the Cart/Checkout pages, so the “United Kingdom” (UK) needs to be selected there in order for the “GB” tax rate to be applied.

Additionally, it looks like if “UK” is entered as the country code for the tax rate, “United Kingdom” will show as an option that can be selected, but clicking on that will change “UK” to “GB”.

    So, to recap:

    – The tax rate (WooCommerce > Settings > Tax > [rate table]) needs to have “GB” as the country code.
    – The Country selected during the checkout process needs to be the UK (with the appropriate city/postcode for the applicable address).

If you think this is a bug or would like to explain why a change should be applied in the future to the developers, you can create an issue on the public Github repo (as I think I’m more confused now than before- but I’m an American so perhaps that isn’t surprising? Hahah).

    Hello Shaun,

having linked ATUM to WOO COMMERCE we have some other fresh issues,

How can we add product location to the pick/packing lists – this enables us to find the product that has been ordered. I suspect there is a plug in – any thoughts?

I am looking at a plug in for producing pro forma invoices, where a customer wants to see the possible invoice in advance of ordering. Any thoughts? Web Toffee looks good.

Also is there a way to get customer data added to the system and saved if they enter as a guest.?

    sorry to bombard you !!

    regards Daniel.

    Hey @lotusdaniel,

Sorry for the delayed response, as I was out of the office for the last few days- and no worries about the bombardment! ??

I’m not sure which page you are referring to here, but because of how many significant changes to taxes have occurred recently, I’d suggest either using a tax plugin to determine the current rates or speak with a tax professional that you can explain your business to (making sure that you are collecting the appropriate taxes).

If I understand this question correctly, it sounds like the product location info will be used by the store admins or people fulfilling/shipping the orders on the back end. If that is correct, there are a few plugins that can achieve this, such as this free example from here on .org.

The default functionality in WooCommerce can work, but using a plugin that is designed for invoicing is probably a good idea (since it should create a better experience). I can’t speak to Webtoffee’s plugin, but I’d suggest contacting them to make sure it will work for you before purchasing it. Otherwise, there are a few free plugins available here as well, and if you want to send invoices via PDF files, I’d recommend taking a look at this plugin.

Also is there a way to get customer data added to the system and saved if they enter as a guest.?

There are some plugins that can achieve this, as well as custom code like what is described in this third party article.

    Dear Shaun,

Thank you for your help. We have successfully sorted out the Tax issue and now that is OK again.

I also think the Word press plug in for pro forma invoices will suit us – so all good progress.

    My two remaining issues are

    1) identifying picking locations on a picking list, so we can efficiently recover stock that is needed for sale. the suggestion you made does not show me the picking list as such. Are there any more plug ins?

    2) I am going to study the customer data retention issue further but this still escapes me as I cannot see a good example from word press, any suggestions?

    My grateful thanks Daniel Lotus

    Hello again Shaun.

I have looke at the guest checkout in more detail.

Please can I explain my problem.

If we have an internet based sale, the customer makes an account and places his order. This works well, the data is recorded in the3 account and life is simple. we can recover details for subsequent orders.

The issue is with non internet orders, so for example telephone orders and emailed orders. In this instance we can only add the customer as a guest and so do not keep his data. this means every time he orders we have to re-enter all the data which is time consuming for him and us.
So what I’m looking for – is how to store email and phone customers information/details in the data base as account customers.

Your best ideas will be gratefully received.

    regards Daniel Lotus

    Hey @lotusdaniel,

Glad to hear that the tax issue has been resolved! ??

Absolutely! Here is a free example that sounds like it might do what you need.

For this, I would suggest using a plugin to help with the phone orders and there are even some free options here on .org- like this example.
