Every time I do a woocommerce update it doesn’t install correctly and says “Woocommerce Not Active”.

At this point it takes my whole website down, front end and back end. The only way to fix it is to reinstall my backup of the website.

Woocommerce will not provide support on this. Does anyone have an answer?

Consider asking on your theme’s support forum:

However, your theme supports WooCommerce, so it looks like there is some conflict or corruption somewhere. The debug procedure is:
    – deactivate all plugins, can you now install WC? If so try to identify which plugin is causing the conflict.
    – switch to the default TwentyFourteen theme to be able to rule out a theme issue.
    – if its not possible to find the problem, consider rebuilding the site in a sub-directory. Use fresh downloads of WP, theme and plugins, a new WP install and database, export your content from your current site and import it into the new. When, or should that be if it works, point your url at the new site.

The answer was deactivating all plugins. Updating Woocommerce then reactivating all plugins.
