WooCommerce not recognising Site Admin login

    If I log in to my site as an Admin user, WooCommerce does not respect that I’m logged in, and prevents access to my account on the front end.

    – If I visit “My Account”, WooCommerce appears (falsely) as if I am not logged in. If I then try to login via the “My Account” login form, it fails (presumably because I am actually already logged in as the Admin user).

    – Once I have visited any WooCommerce page, the Admin Bar vanishes.

    – If I visit /wp-admin/ it loads normally (because I am already logged in).

    The only way to get WooCommerce to work properly is if I log out as site admin, and then log in again via the login form at /my-account/

    This is really inconvenient. I should have the same active cookies no matter which form I use to log in, and WooCommerce should always work properly for a logged in Admin user.

    I should have mentioned that:

    – this has only begun happening recently (last WooCommerce update)
    – I’m seeing this behaviour across multiple sites

    This kind of problem is usually caused by a conflict with your theme or with another plugin. The best way to determine this is to:

    • Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
    • Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
    • Repeat the action that is causing the problem

    If you’re not seeing the same behavior after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated.

    Reactivate the theme first and check again. Then, go on and reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict.
