Hi thank you for your help in advance. I am an IT professional doing wordpress work for a client.

I have searched the internet. It would be nice to have a real human to help.

I cannot get woocommerce to send emails to my customer or my admin. Moreover, I personally purchased a product and got NO email. Yes, I know how to check spam folders and such.

My client is being told they need forms when why would they need forms when the customer is typing all that information in.

I looked for email conflicts with plugins and could not find anything. Is this a known issue?

I have captured the support log per request. I am at my wits end on this as this is delaying the launch of my client’s site.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

    Hey @kelitosway,

    Thanks for reaching out!

It looks like order emails are not being sent/received, is this correct?

This type of issue is generally narrowed down to the email service provider (usually your web host), or the email address being used on your store.

As a first step, can you please check that the?email types are enabled by navigating to?WooCommerce → Settings →?Emails, and clicking?Manage?on the left-hand side of the email type. If it’s disabled, no email will be sent:

Should this be enabled, I would recommend logging whether an email is created and sent by installing the WP Mail Logging plugin and following the below steps:

    • Generate a test order
    • Go to your WP Admin → Tools → WP Mail Log
    • Check that your test order generated an email, and if there are any sending errors reported (you can share the results with us here).

I would also encourage you to check our?Email FAQ?which is a great resource to narrow down what could be causing this behavior.

My client is being told they need forms when why would they need forms when the customer is typing all that information in

I’m not sure I fully understand this part, would you mind providing additional clarity on this. If screenshots may be helpful, please share these with us here.

If you do not already have a screenshot tool installed, Snipboard.io can be used for easily sharing screenshots.

    Cheers!

    1. the quick response is amazing.
    2. I have the wp mail logging turned on. did a test transaction using woocommerce test payment. the email were created. there was nothing in my spam quarantine via cpanel.
    3. Therefore the email was generated but not sent. My client’s email is a yahoo account if that makes a difference (that is what is set up as an admin).
    4. I could not see an email conflict plugin. If you need the woocommerce system status I can get that.

Kindly let me know next steps to help my client get this resolved!

PS I am not using a SMTP plugin, yet

OK. I added a free SMTP mailer (wp mail smtp pointing to my SMTP outgoing server (port 465) and ran a test from this plugin. It works. I updated my test order to send an invoice to my email account. Still NOTHING. I checked my spam quarantine on my email via cpanel at my host. NOTHING.

When I did a user password change on wordpress for my admin account an email is sent nicely.

I am looking for guidance now as I am at my wits end.

    Hi @kelitosway

From your explanation, it looks like the emails are being generated but not sent. Since you’ve already checked for plugin conflicts and found nothing, it might be related to the email service provider or the email settings on your store.

Since your client’s email is a Yahoo account, it’s worth noting that some hosting providers have issues sending emails to Yahoo, AOL, and other similar email providers due to their DMARC policies. You may want to consider using a different email for the admin account or using a transactional email service.

As you’ve installed an SMTP plugin, and it’s working fine for test emails. However, WooCommerce emails are still not being sent. This could indicate a possible issue with the email settings in WooCommerce.

Please navigate to WooCommerce → Settings → Emails and ensure that the “‘From” email address is a domain-based email (e.g., [email protected]). Also, make sure that the “From” name is not an email address and that all email notifications are enabled.

If the issue persists, I would recommend contacting your hosting provider. They may be able to provide more insight into why the emails aren’t being sent.

Additionally, could you please share a screenshot of your email settings (WooCommerce → Settings → Emails New Order)? For screenshots, you may use https://snipboard.io – please follow the instructions on that page, then paste the URL in this thread.

Let us know how that goes. Looking forward to helping you.

I’ll send that screenshot. Also, the test I am running is sending an updated invoice from the Order panel.
I just generated another transaction in test mode. No email.
my next question is that could the theme be a problem?

I may update to a new theme so see if that works. My client uses Bluehost a very reputable WordPress hosting platform.

all my email notifications are on. I will send the screenshot also.

it’s works again for my side

    Hi @siteweb44

Are there any changes made that helped resolved the issue?

Please let us know how it goes @kelitosway.

I sent a lot of info. Still not working.

it’s fixed. I changed the SMTP setting to TLS and emails started working. I tested major email domains like Gmail and my own hosted domains. It worked.

    Hi @kelitosway

That’s great to know! You did well.

SMTP with TLS enhances the security of your email communications and encrypts the data that’s sent between the email server and your mail application, thus helping to protect your information from being intercepted or tampered with by hackers.
