    Something strange is happening in my online store.

    So I have PayPal standard implemented with WooCoomerce. In System status, everything has a green tick mark, etc. so things are set up correctly. I’ve also made a payment in Sandbox mode and the order status was successfully updated in my WP-admin.

    But today, another person had an order, and paid via PayPal, but with his credit / debit card. The order appeared in the WP-admin, as pending payment, even though the payment came through. And it remained in the status o PENDING PAYMENT. I do not really get it what is happening. Is PayPal IPN not updating the status correctly, if paid with credit or debit card, only with PayPal account?

    Or do I need PayPal express checkout?

  • This is happening to me as well but not with regularity so it’s difficult to troubleshoot. I now must manually check paypal on those to see if a payment was made/received.

    Exactly, I have to manually check all the time, and sometimes the payment is in my account, sometimes not. I want to be able to be sure that PayPal IPN updates correctly in my WOOCOMMERCE.

    On my site orders are coming through correctly (not using paypay) but customers are not getting confirmation emails. It might be a good idea to ask your costumers if they have received them. If they haven’t you can send them automatically through the order screen.
