Hi, thanks for the great plugin, I have an issue: what do you mean by “You need to translate woocommerce pages by yourself”? I have English as default and my clients can translates the cart, checkout etc texts to German, but I am not sure where to add them. The cart page, for example, is done with the shortcode [woocommerce_cart], I used the same for the German version…I am maybe missing something very simple, but as I could not find hints online a suggestion from you would be greatly appreciated!
    Best!

I reckon I could create a clone of cart.php, put there the German text and save it as something like cart_de.php, but then how do I call that template? Thanks a lot!

@alitscha what I mean in “You need to translate woocommerce pages by yourself” is that you have to go to pages in wp admin and translate the following pages (Cart,Shop,My Account,Checkout) using polylang with the same content(woocommerce shortcode) for all used languages but probably with different slugs and titles . from your theme you don’t have to do anything or duplicated template for each lanaguge.

Hope this explanation help you solve the issue here , and please do not hesitate to ask me more questions if you still have any issue with this.

Hi Hyyan and thanks for the quick answer! The thing is: I have already created the translated pages with the same shortcode as you suggest, still I get the English version on both. Maybr it has something to do with the slug? Where should I add that? It won’t work if I add it in the short code, for example [woocommerce_cart-2]
    Thanks so much!

@alitscha This is strange the the same shortcode is used for the woo page in any language and the plugin will handle the translation correctly for you, Do you have a link I can look at it?

Please not the following points first :

    1. using polylang “Detect browser language” option cause browser cache issues make sure to disable the option when you are developing
    2. the polylang option “The language is set from content” is not supported yet , you have to use another method from the methods polylang already provides

wait: I got what you mean and I do have different titles and slug. I used the same short code [woocommerce_cart] for both versions. But they are both in English even though one is the German translation page.
I have uploaded German Language Package both in WP language folder and in Woocommerce language folder…any idea what the problem could be?
    thanks!

@alitscha Not sure , I need a link to look at to see what is going on or you can reproduce the issue be creating the test website using qsandbox.com so I can look at it to see what is going on.

By the way , you don’t have to upload the translations files by your own the plugin will download the translations for you when you add new language in polylang.

I solved the issue this way: I tried adding a third language as a test and translations worked for it on cart and chekout pages. So I tried to add German again as a language again in Polylang (even though it was already there and even though I had already uploaded the Woocommerce German package): after that the translations started working as they should. I guess one should first install your plugin and then add the languages on polylang (or add them again if they’re already there). If this was a known issue or part of your documentation: sorry for redundancy! and thanks again.

@alitscha Hyyan WooCommerce Polylang Integration plugin must be installed before start adding languages in polylang , the new version of this plugin will include a tool to download woo translation even when polylang languages are already added.

No need to apologize , it is not known issue literally , but you can considered as behavior.

thank you very much for feedback.

yes, it is really only a small behavior thing and definitely not a bug, it only took me a while to figure that out – I had first installed and set polylang as I have already worked with it, and only later your plugin as it is the first time I work with Woocommerce. I think the tool in the new version is a great idea! Best.
