    Okay, if I understand correctly, you do not want to have the category-based to show in the permalink? It is important to have this because I found that some of the WooCommerce pages get in 404 error if you do not have a category base set.

    I found a code solution to the problem here – How to Remove the Product-Category Slug in WordPress WooCommerce This code seems to be working for me and I can organize the category base without additional string between my shop slug and category slug.
