WooCommerce primary category permalink doesnt work

Hi yoast-team,
we read a lot about the issue that the primary product category doesnt work.
You know this issue but it seems that it isnt fixed right now?
We test this code (https://gist.github.com/chancestrickland/8d3ca0ca787ea8cf2851fb1cfac36805) and it doesnt works. Why is this bug still in the newest yoast seo plugin version?
