• Hi there,

I’m using mailpoet 3.31.1 (free premium version)

I’m only using mailpoet for product related emails for this moment. I’ve set up a mail that will be send after a product was bought in one of multiple categories. 3 days after order. (or do i have to set up a mail for each categorie).

Products have been sold in these categories but I don’t see any statistics. A couple of mails must have been send already and a couple of mails must have been planned.

Because mails are product related I don’t want a customer to need to accept subscribe to a mailing lists.

Why are the mails not being send, am I missing something?

  • Hi there @dimono,

Thanks for your question! For the product emails to send, the user still needs to select to signup at checkout and confirm their subscription, it’s only then that the product email will be scheduled to send.

We realize this isn’t an ideal workflow for product based emails, but we need to be careful due to anti-spam laws and GDPR.

We’re currently discussing this internally about how to have less friction for the workflow in the future.

    Thanks!

Ah, thats to bad. I’m afraid I have to search for an alternative than or be creative about the checkbox text.

The mails are product related (information about shipping, production process )so I don’t think GDPR would be a problem. (For now I’m sending mails with my own smtp, Is there a workaround for this? (at my own risk))

    Hi there @dimono,

Unfortunately, at the moment there isn’t a workaround for this even if using your own sending method, as the requirement for confirmation from the user is a core part of the plugin.

    Sorry about that!

Ok, for now I “solved” this by adding the a checkbox with: Yes, send me product related information.

Is it possible to maybe preselect the checkbox or make the checkbox compulsory?

I’m really hoping for a solution because Mailpoet could be a powerful aftersale tool.

    Thanks for your quick responses!

    Hi there @dimono,

To pre-select a checkbox you could try using jQuery and the prop element: Take a look at this; https://stackoverflow.com/a/19630917.

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

There are stil no statistics. (still not send)

I did a test order myself just now. I subscribed while ordering and I’m subscribed as WooCommerce Costumer. The notice is still “not send”. (no notice like * planned). In three days I will learn if the mail is be?ng send to me.

    Am I missing something?

This is what I have set up:

    • No email signup confirmation
    • send woocommerce emails when… (number category a, category b, category c

Does the product have te be in all categories? Or in one of the chosen categories (what I’m trying to do).

    What am I missing?
