• Hello,

I’m trying to make Yoast SEO index a custom field on WooCommerce product categories but it’s not working.

Is there a manual step involved to tell it the custom field name?

It’s showing 42 words on the product category term but I have 400+ between two fields.

    Please advise.

    Hi @one3rdnerd

This plugin should add an option to your fields to include it in the SEO plugin analysis, isn’t that showing or working?

I’m not seeing that anywhere? Can you share the steps to find that?

I’m inside Pods and looking at the custom taxonomy fields but I don’t see any options that mention “SEO” and I did Ctrl+F to search the page on each screen.

    Just checking in on this.

Where should I see this option?

    Hi @one3rdnerd

    Sorry for my late reply.
So to be short, this plugin really needs some attention apparently since it seems that the plugin options, as well as the analysis compatibility is not up to date anymore unfortunately.

I already created a patch to make the field options compatible with newer Pods versions: https://github.com/pods-framework/pods-seo/pull/20/files

Actually, it seems that all fields should be enabled by default. The options only let you exclude fields from analysis.

Unfortunately, due to high demand in support for the main plugin I cannot give you any pointers as to when the analysis part will be updated for the latest Yoast SEO versions.

Edit: please also see this page: https://yoast.com/help/add-custom-fields-to-yoast-seo-premium-plugin-settings/
It mentions that you can include fields within Yoast SEO yourself, you could try that?

    Cheers, Jory

    Hi @keraweb

No problem, thanks for the update.

It would be great to get this plugin fully functional again as having custom fields visible to the popular SEO plugins is really helpful.

I’ll try and check out the patch and hopefully things calm down with the core Pods plugin soon, at least enough for this plugin to get some more attention.

Regarding Yoast Premium, yes I was aware of that but I hardly know anyone willing to upgrade to the premium plugin. Most people just use the free version because there are very few features making it worthwhile to pay for annually.

I appreciate your time and will look out for a plugin update in the future.
