woocommerce product descriptions not displaying

In our store, we use both the long description and short description in our product pages. The short description shows up nicely,, but the content of the page, the long description does not show up in the description tab, though the tab itself shows. This suggests that there is content to trigger the tab, but for some reason that content isn’t displayed.
I have searched and checked settings, changed out plugins and the theme and it seems that only the theme change allowed the page content to be displayed, though the page blocking was destroyed, so I can’t tell if that corrected the tab issue.

Has anyone else run into this issue?
