• I run a WordPress site using the WooCommerce plugin and I have an issue with the search functionality on the backend CMS.

In the CMS on the Products page (https://my-wordpress-site.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=product), when I use the search box to search for a product using a product title, SKU or description, I do not get any products returned.

Instead I get the error message returned: “No Products found in trash”

I want to search All products, not just products in the Trash.

I have not intentionally restricted the search to Trash only, but it seems to have locked itself to only look in the trash!!

Every time I click search it seems to add &post_status=trash in the URL, which is not what I want it to do. If I remove this part of the URL the correct search results are returned.

Any ideas how to fix this?

  • Did you fix? I’m having the same problem.

    Hi Simon

No unfortunately not. I believe it is related to a conflict between some of the plugins that I have installed

I had a developer look at this, but it was not something they could fix easily, they tried a few things (restricting the search to only Live products, hard-coding which types of products were searched), but that didn’t fix it.

If you find a solution I would be keen to know it!

    Thanks,
    Tom

    Bob,

I was able to fix the issue on my site, and yes, it was a plugin conflict issue.

The problem went away after I disabled a plugin called “Quick Empty Trash”.

I’m not even sure what it did. I think my assistant installed it for some reason. Anyway … it’s gone and the problem is gone.

    Hope this helps you.

    Simon
