Woocommerce product split taxes

    Goodmorning fellow wordies,

    Is there someone here with specific knowledge of Woomcommerce taxes? There is a challenge i got here; 1 product with 2 tax rates.

    In the Netherlands we got multiple tax rates, food (6%) and non food (21%).

    If you want to sell a product (box with goods) on your webshop which contains multiple types of products, in this case ‘food’ AND ‘non-food’, you need to split and specify taxes.

    For example: You sell a box for 100 euro exclusive taxes. 20 euro food and 80 non-food. So include taxes the amount will be: 21.80 (food 9% tax) + 96.80 (non food 21% tax) = total 118.60 euro.

    Is there someone who knows a solution for this challenge? Or am i just missing a setting in the gui? I am a little lost here.. Thanks for reading my post!

  • You will have to apply Tax Classes to the items that are Food and give another class to the ones that are Non Food.

    Well thats the problem, we are selling boxes which contains products which has different tax classes. So the product is the box but we need to split taxes because of the products it contains.

    That does not sound fun. You’re going to need a plugin that can do that (highly doubt it exists) or someone that can custom code that in or create that plugin that doesn’t exist.

    I have not tested it but you should be able to do a tax class that includes both and give them the same priority. This would allow both tax rates on the same box.

    I cannot find this plugin. And I created 2 default tax classes with same priority.
    However, when i create a new product i can set only 1 price and 1 tax class..

    I need to define 2 prices with both a different tax class.

    I wonder if someone needed this function before. I cant image I am the only one.

    Sounds like you need to create variations then. Then each will have their own price. You be able to apply different tax classes as well. I’m not in front of computer now.

    Also, most businesses hide the tax into the cost of the product. I’m not sure what country your in but that’s a pretty standard practice as well.

    These docs wont provide a solution. Its business to business. The tax will be shown at check-out and invoice only. Variation? The product is the box, so the product price need to be split.. Variation wont support that.

    Look for a B2B plugin that might be able to help you then. Plenty of them out there.

    Nobody ever said that life would be easy. You will have to write tax classes in the advance class field then an get all jiggy with it.

    If none of that works then you need to rethink how you collect taxes. WC is limited when it comes to taxes. You may have to hire a developer to code or create a plugin specifically for your needs if it doesn’t exist.

    I got it! I created bundled products with a plugin with products of different tax rates! Finally!!!

    Hi, I’m from the Netherlands too and I also need this.
    Could you tell me which plugin you used, please?
    And did you encounter others? What about free/freemium/premium?

    Another Dutch person with the exact same question ;D Can any of you two tell me the name of the plugin??

    I am still keeping my eyes open for a cleaner solution.

    On the invoice, you need to have two line items with the separate parts. But you may only want to show only 1 item in the shopping cart.
