• Hello,

I am having issues with finding a solution to sell my products online.

What we do is sell art on different mediums (like canvas, wood, etc.) , and those mediums with different finishes (black edges, white edges, etc.) for a truly customized product.

CLICK HERE for a sample page of what I have so far.

Now please note that “Side edge finish” and “Brushstrokes” are both options for the medium we will call MEDIUM1. MEDIUM1 is the default, but I would like that whole right side (everything to the right of the gallery, below the price) to be in a TAB system so the client can choose a different medium. In each medium would be a different set of “side edge finishes” in the dropdown, and perhaps different options (sort of like the brushstrokes).

So lets say a client wants to put that art on MEDIUM2. They click the tab for that medium, and now all the info inside that tab are all options for MEDIUM2 and any changes done there reflect the price above.

I’ve been doing a lot of research as to how this would be doable, with no luck. I need some type of system that will work for me and make it super simple for the client to understand / navigate.

Just a note, the options for brushstrokes and side edge finish are a result of the Product Addons plugin.

Thank you very much for reading. To anyone who has any advice, or can point me in the right direction, your help is insanely appreciated as I am starting to pull my hair out on this one.

  • Hi! Hoping I can help you out a bit ?? Am I correct in understanding that you would like to add variations to the product and that you would like each variation to reflect an adjusted price?

As this is a WooCommerce-specific issue, you need to seek support here:

    Hi HappyZebra,

The issue is more adding variations that are easily selectable, that have their own settings / variations afterwards. The fact that they adjust the price is just a result of their selection.

    Hi Senff,

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction, I will also add my question there.

For simplicity sake, here is an article that should help your with setting up the variations that effect the pricing fields as well. Let me know if it helps at all ??

    Hi HappyZebra,

Thank you very much for getting back to me!

I am aware of the variations, I just cant get this to work for my specific purpose / system the way I need it to ??

Using these variations, lets just say those would be my mediums. Like “Canvas”, “Wood”, “Acrylic”..

Now for each of those you have a completely different set of selections. For canvas, you have “Brushstrokes” and “Canvas Finishing” where as for wood you have “Wood Finishing” where these are dropdowns for the client to further customize their order.

Not only does it all have to work, but it needs to be simple for the customer to use. As already I’m in disagreement with my boss about the complexity of our options and finishes.
