WooCommerce product variations dropdown to display in shop loop

You will have to rebuild almost all functions, mainly because the JS that works on the product page will not behave well in the product loop.
Not to mention that it would be a performance killer, since it would have to carry a lot of data in the product loop.

But this end use is only on a store which has 5-10 products, then each product just has six variable subscriptions.

I have already seen this plugin WooCommerce Show Single Variations, which adds all product variations as single products within the shop.

Whilst I am just talking about displaying the variable subscriptions (which work the same as product variations) dropdown on the product listing on the shop.

Ohh so you want to display the variable products as individual products and not the variations options fields in the catalog?

No the opposite. I want to display product variations as a dropdown on the products on shop.

That would be pretty heavily because it would need to load in all variations for all shown products.

You could show ‘single’ products via shortcode on a page if you want all options visible at once.

You could of course hack the template files to show the single add to cart hooks on the loop template but I don’t know how well this will function since variations are not intended to be shown there (by core).

Well i’m not ruling it out as being possible, I just don’t have any code snippets to hand to provide you ?? This isn’t something I’ve looked into because I’ve never had a use-case.

So would using say do_shortcode() function, then using the [product_attribute] in the correct WC template work?

I don’t think that will work – that shortcode is not the attribute form. This is going to require PHP code – no escaping that.

Override https://github.com/woothemes/woocommerce/blob/master/templates/loop/add-to-cart.php and look at how the single add to cart form works for variations.
