A client is using Translatepress with Woocommerce (which it is supposedly compatible with). The issue we’re running into is that the shop is showing all products from both languages even though we have products that are set to only one language. Please advise on this.

Also, we are seeing the same problem with latest post widgets and the like. It would only make sense that posts either with translations in the respective language, or are set to the language should appear, however that is not the case.

    Hi,

How does this client use our plugin?
It created products in back-end for both language. If so, it is not how TranslatePress should be used. We are working with strings, not individual post, meaning we detect and translate the string in the font-end.

In other words, TranslatePress does not create new posts for the translated versions of the original post. But the translated versions will have separate URLs. That means every page has a separate URL for each language no matter if that page is translated or not.

Basically, you will have to create only products in the default language and translate them after using our Translation Editor:https://translatepress.com/docs/translation-editor/

I understand how TranslatePress works in general regarding strings and URLs, however this is not what I am asking about.

What I am speaking to here are single language posts. On the post edit page there is a dropdown to select the native language of the post.

When a post’s language is selected, only the posts that are in that language should show on the frontend when a user is in that language, however that is not the case.

For instance, on the blog archive page, when the user language on the site is set to Slovenian, posts in English also show up. This is also true for other post types, such as WooCommerce products shown in the shop. And, it is also true for widgets such as recent posts etc.. They all show posts from all languages, not just the language the user is respectively in.

We currently don’t have a way to exclude posts from queries or archive pages. But, when they click on one of those products they will be redirected to the default language product page.
