Woocommerce really slow after update

    I had Woo version 9.0.2 I had update it from 8.8.5. After update it was really slow, I have tried diffrent solutions like disabling plugin and also testing it with Twenty twenty theme but it was still slow, Today I have update it on staging to latest version 9.1.4, still same, Woocommerce > Orders page is really slow it takes around 1 to 3 mins to load, my site has around 62K orders, order edit page is really slow, please suggest. I have added logs for support as below –

    1. Consider optimizing your database. There are plugins available that can help with this, such as WP-Optimize or Optimize Database after Deleting Revisions. Always backup your database before running these tools.
    2. WooCommerce uses transients for caching. Over time, these can build up and may slow down your site. You can clean it by navigating to WooCommerce > Status > Tools (WooCommerce transients, Expired transients, Clear template cache, Product lookup tables, and Regenerate the product attributes lookup table).
    3. Consider using the Index WP MySQL For Speed and Fast Woo Order Lookup plugin. You can even enable HPOS, which will increase the performance.
    4. Discuss the issue with your hosting provider. They may be able to offer solutions or upgrades to handle your site’s large database.

    I understand what you have mentioned but how come it becomes slow after update of woocommerce plugin.

    Till version 8.8.5 it was working and loading fast. When version was 8.8.5 we had 60k+ order that time too.

    The working and faster loading version I has was 8.8.5 , than I have updated it to 9.0.2 after that issue starting to happen, admin side is really slow, so I also updated to latest version 9.1.4 and tested it, it is still slow.

    There was some security update so I had, updated it to 8.8.5 – I got it from – https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/woocommerce.8.8.5.zip

    After that I have updated it to 8.9.3 https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/woocommerce.8.9.3.zip, on this version also it was working fine. Than I have updated it to the version 9.0.2 this month and after that wp admin side and orders is really slow.

    Have you had a chance to disable the Order Attribution feature? You can find it under WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > Features. After disabling it, check if it resolves the issue.

    Additionally, as your site has a large number of orders, it might be beneficial to optimize your database. Did you try the plugin I suggested earlier? Is there any difference?

    When I downgrade woocommerce version from 9.0.2 to 8.9.3 it not asking for any kind of DB updates. Usually when I update it to latest version it asks for Woocommerce DB update.

    It was working fine and loading fast before with version 8.9.3 but now when I rolled back from 9.0.2 to 8.9.3 it is still slow, Do I need to do any thing for DB versions updates, I have manually downgrade the plugin version I have not used any plugin for that.

    The database is usually updated automatically when you update the plugin. But sometimes you need to do it manually.

    If the database version is not matching the WooCommerce version, please update it on WooCommerce > Status > Tools > Update Database.

    Only if it is not updated automatically.

    The database version should always match the WooCommerce version. When it doesn’t, it usually shows a big warning at the top of your dashboard. But you can also check it by going to the System Status Report on WooCommerce Status.

    If the version matches, all is good. If it doesn’t, you need to update it.

    For Conflict test I have tested it with both 9.0.2 and 9.1.4. I have tested it with the disabling all plugin apart from woo related, like payment , shipping etc.

    For theme I have tested it with my custom theme and also with the twentytwentyfour theme. In both case speed was same, with twenty four theme it was slightly faster but that is also when you open page again and again that it’s noticeable speed diffrent around max 1 sec.

    Admin panel was working fine till version 8.5.5 after that it was getting slow after updates after update till latest version

    I don’t use legacy API but Can not use HPOS?because it’s not supported for the payment gateway plugin we use.
