My issue is similar to the post previously raised that is quoted below. Only in my case, the missing field errors reported by Google Search Console in the Enhancements/Snippets section are related to:

Missing Field: “Author”
Missing Field: “Item Reviewed”

In my case I’m running: WP version = 5.7 + PHP version = 7.3.27.

The provided URL is currently the only review on my website and it’s clear that some of the https://schema.org/Review structure is not being applied properly which is causing the search console error to flag up the missing fields.

I am not using a dedicated plugin for reviews handling. Examining the snippet on page points to a woo class/function “<div id=”reviews” class=”woocommerce-Reviews”>” so I think I’m highlighting this issue in the right forum?

I would appreciate feedback on this issue, since the previous reported case was resolved without a clear resolution other than to say this issue had been resolved with a WP update, but clearly this isn’t the case in my example.

I’ve had a look at my own test site, that carries multiple reviews, and this doesn’t show any errors here – https://search.google.com/search-console/review-snippet

If the data isn’t being passed to Google correctly, this could be happening somewhere else. If you conflict test using our free Storefront theme, does this error still happen? https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/

You can see that this was a problem previously but has since been resolved – https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/issues/24862#issuecomment-543703780

I haven’t come across this missing field error in some time.

Sorry for bumps. Makes sense with respect to post filtering.

I will have to check this but it may take some time.

I don’t follow the argument about data being passed to search console? Other data is flowing and is captured by Search console fine. I am using the Cloudflare CDN (reverse proxy) service but have not noticed a change (e.g. validation still fails) when this is disabled/dev mode, when checking previously.

Will revert once tested with a different theme.

Hi Doug,

I have done more reading on the subject, but no further troubleshooting steps have been carried out on the subject, due to other priorities.

Will advise as soon as I have further feedback to add.
