I’ve created a shipping method for a single type of product, but that shipping method is being applied to virtual products that have “no shipping method” selected. How do I keep shipping from being applied to virtual products? Thank you.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hello,

Could you first make sure that you’ve checked “Virtual” on the Product Data panel?

By default, virtual products shouldn’t trigger shipping calculation during checkout. However, if there are any physical products in cart along with a virtual product, shipping will be applied to those physical products.

If your site is not working as expected, could you share the following so we can take a closer look?

    1. Link to an example virtual product.
    2. System Status:?You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

The products being charged shipping are variable, virtual products, ie classes with different dates, for example. Also, my gift cards are also being charged shipping and they are also virtual (no physical cards and set up as such).

The issue is solved. I installed a shipping plugin that seems to have resolved the problem.

    Hi @blueplanetphoto

You can also choose “Virtual” for each variation, and that will bypass shipping calculation: https://snipboard.io/Cck2zH.jpg

If your site isn’t working as expected, one of your plugins may be overring the default behavior.

Glad to hear it’s solved. If you have other questions, feel free to start a new topic.
