    Hola.

I am trying to set up shipping for a client’s website. She sells giclee prints of oils, original water colours, prints of water colours and art cards.

Each has a bit of a different shipping issue plus free local pickup as follows:

    • Free local pickup (I have set a zone using postal codes)
    • Flat rate postage for art cards which is complicated by having 2 variations of 2 choices – so potentially 4 different flat rates per product, and
    • Canada Post shipping for packages of all prints and original artworks.

We are currently working with the free WooCommerce core and the PluginHive free version of the Canada Post plugin. This seems to allow me to cover shipping the framed/matted art and prints as well as free local pickup – but not the art cards (even if there was one flat rate).

The shop is in sandbox mode for Square checkout and has been removed from navigation. It can be found here: https://BonnieDavy.ca/shop.

Any advice anyone has for this is most appreciated!

    Thanks in advance,
    Beth

    Hello @campbellduke,

Flat rate postage for art cards which is complicated by having 2 variations of 2 choices – so potentially 4 different flat rates per product, and

In WooCommerce, you can control the rate of the flat rate method via shipping classes, but all shipping options will render as long as the customer’s shipping address meets the zip code/region.

If your goal here is to assign a certain shipping method per product, I suggest you take a look at the Conditional Shipping and Payments extension.

Alternatively, you can explore the Advanced Flat Rate Shipping Method for WooCommerce for additional customization options for the flat rate shipping method.

I should note that all extensions sold on WooCommerce.com have a 30-day refund policy. If the product doesn’t work the way you need it or you think another product would work better, we are more than happy to provide a full refund.

Please let us know if you have any other questions or if I misunderstood your goals. ??

Thank you for your reply. I will have a look at these options and see which one will work best.

What I have now does display all of the options – including free local delivery, a flat rate for art cards and shipping for larger items so if someone buys multiple items (like a big print and art cards) we’d like it to display only the box shipping (as the art cards can be popped into the box for no extra charge).

    Thanks again!

    Hi @campbellduke

Thanks for providing further information about your issue.

I understand that you would like to configure your shipping options in a way that when a customer purchases multiple items, including a big print and art cards, only the box shipping option should be displayed, as the art cards can fit into the box without any additional charges.

Checking our marketplace, I found the premium plugin Hide Shipping Methods for WooCommerce that helps to conditionally hide WooCommerce shipping methods and specific shipping options either those included in by WooCommerce or added by third-party developers or extensions — based on:

    • WooCommerce shipping classes
    • WooCommerce product categories
    • Product SKU
    • Order weight
    • Cart sub-total
    • Destination countries and states
    • Destination postal codes
    • User roles
    • Shipping method
    • Shipping option

Did you know that if you want to try our products, it comes with a 30-day refund policy? If the product doesn’t work the way you need it or you think another product would work better, we are more than happy to offer a full refund. You can read more about our refund policy on our website here.

    Hope this helps!
