Since upgrading to Woo Version 8.6.1 we can no longer display shipping notices. When I rollback to 8.5.2 then things work as expected.

As an example of the checkout page it just shows “Shipping” but it is empty. There is no message. If the user adds a postal / zip code that is where we deliver to then shipping updates to the shipping options. If the users zip code is to a place we don’t ship the “Shipping” just remains blank.

We had custom messages for this which have stopped working. Removing the custom code doesn’t resolve the issue either.

This means we are getting lots of people contacting us as they don’t get shipping displayed.

On the cart page it displays the default shop location under shipping. Previously there was a message. “No shipping options were found.”

On the checkout page this is the same. In Woo 8.5.2 we had messages like the below.

“There are no shipping options available. Please ensure that your address has been entered correctly, or contact us if you need any help.”

We also had custom messages set with filters and these no longer work.

I’ve activated Storefront (effectively removing our custom code which is in a child theme) and deactivated all plugins except Woo and issue persists.

    Hello @urchindesign,

Thanks for sharing a detailed report on the issues you are facing with the store notices.

I was able to notice a similar issue mentioned here, which was apparently fixed by updating to the WooCommerce version 8.7 RC 1.

Let us know if this helps.

Thanks. I did not see that thread. As I can’t really run a RC release on production is it safe to use the Rollback plugin and revert to Woo 8.5.2 where things work as expected?

    Hi again @urchindesign,

It is generally safe to use the Rollback plugin to revert to WooCommerce 8.5.2. However, please make sure to back up your site before proceeding, as this will safeguard your data in case of any unexpected issues.

We also recommend testing the 8.7RC version in a staging environment first if possible.

If you encounter any issues or need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.
