    Hi there,

I am struggling with the ranges and wildcards of within the Woocommerce shipping settings.

    If I enter:
    IV1 *

    IV28*

When purchasing with postcode IV3 1HU I am charged the ‘locations not covered by your other zones.’

Is anyone able to advise? Thank you in advance.

Hey @rossturner, the one thing that stands out to me is that you have a space between IV1 and *, but not between IV28 and *. Can you try what happens when you do add that space?

    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply.

It seems that when I save the settings it changes the order to:

    IV28 *

    IV1 *

I have tried clearing the cache etc but this does not fix it.

Do you know why this might happen? Many thanks.

    Assuming this is UK postcodes?

I have set up a client with zones for their courier areas – in Scottish Highlands I have the following IV codes:

    IV1 *
    IV2 *
    IV3 *
    IV4 *
    IV5 *
    IV6 *
    IV7 *
    IV8 *
    IV9 *
    IV10 *
    IV11 *
    IV12 *
    IV13 *
    IV14 *
    IV15 *
    IV16 *
    IV17 *
    IV18 *
    IV19 *
    IV20 *
    IV21 *
    IV22 *
    IV23 *
    IV24 *
    IV25 *
    IV26 *
    IV27 *
    IV28 *
    IV29 *
    IV30 *
    IV31 *
    IV32 *
    IV33 *
    IV34 *
    IV35 *
    IV36 *
    IV37 *
    IV38 *
    IV39 *
    IV40 *
    IV52 *
    IV53 *
    IV54 *
    IV63 *

So the IV1 * etc format is correct (the space is to distinguish between something like IV1 1AA and IV11 1AA)

It’s been working on the client site for a few months now

    Hi @rossturner,

The method outlined by @seank123 is what you’d need here.

You cannot mix wildcards and ranges. Ranges will only work with postcodes that are completely numerical e.g. US zip codes. So you can have a range for 90210…90310 but you can’t use that for UK postcodes.

You need to list out your wildcard individually as @seank123 has done.

I’ll go ahead and mark this thread as resolved now

If you have any further questions, you can go ahead and start a new thread.
