WooCommerce showing variable as out of stock despite having products in stock

    Hi,

    I have a problem with a WooCommerce site I am hosting. The problem is that some variable products are shown as “Out of stock” despite some of the variations having a positive stock.

    I have turned off “Manage stock” for the “main”-product and have “Manage stock” turned on for the variations.

    It is only an issue for some of the products, not all of them. It is almost like the stock status is not updated based on the actual inventory.
    It is possible to solve the problem manually, by first turning off “Manage stock” for all variations, then publish, go back and turn it on for all variations and entering the correct stock value. However, since this is an issue for several hundred products and they each have up to 10 variations, doing it manually is not an option.

    Anyone know how to solve this? I am thinking that there might be some kind of sql command I can run to update the correct tables in the database.

    Any help is highly appreciated!

    Hi there,

    Do all of the variations have prices assigned to them? If not, WooCommerce will show them as out of stock.

    Yes they do all have a price – and as mentioned above, the issue disappears when I turn the “Manage stock” off, save, turn it on and then save again, not changing anything related to price.

    I would be happy to share screenshots, but can’t figure out how to add pictures..

    When the issue recurs, kindly try changing to a default WordPress theme like Twenty Twenty-One and deactivate all plugins apart from WooCommerce then check if the issue persists.

    If the issue does not persist after the above test, you’ll know that it was caused by your theme or plugins. You will want to reactivate them one by one, checking if the issue comes back after each reactivation. This will help you identify the culprit.
