    Hello everyone,

I set up a small local shop for a customer 5 years ago. Now the host updated the system to PHP 8.1 without me knowing (customer did not forward info), so now I had to set up the website new from backup, and everythning seems to be okay except for woocommerce. As soon as the plugin is active, the website gets extremely slow, apart from that the Shop does not appear on the Shop-Site. I have no clue what to do, any input?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @keulekeulchen,

From what I understand, you’re facing some problems with your WooCommerce plugin after updating to PHP 8.1. It seems to be slowing down your site, and your shop isn’t showing up on the Shop page when the plugin is active.

Let’s tackle the performance issue first. The PHP 8.1 update might not be fully compatible with your current WooCommerce version or other plugins/themes. Here’s what I recommend:

    1. Make sure all your plugins and themes are up-to-date. An outdated plugin or theme might be conflicting with WooCommerce.
    2. Try disabling all other plugins except WooCommerce. If this fixes the issue, turn the plugins back on one at a time to find the one causing the problem.
    3. Switch to a default WordPress theme like Storefront to eliminate any issues with your current theme. Here’s a handy guide on testing for conflicts: ?? How to Test for Plugin and Theme Conflicts.

Now, let’s deal with the issue of your Shop page not showing up. It’s possible that the backup restoration reset your settings. Here’s how to fix it:

    1. Navigate to WooCommerce > Settings > Products and make sure the correct page is set as your Shop page. Need a hand? Here’s a quick guide on ?? WooCommerce Pages.
    2. Check your WordPress permalinks settings. Head to Settings > Permalinks and click “save changes” to flush and regenerate the permalink structure.

If these solutions don’t work, could you please share your site’s System Status with us? It will give us a better understanding of your site’s setup and help us identify the problem. You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support.

Finally, could you share any fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs?

Once you’ve gathered this information, please paste it inside a Code block in your reply, or use https://pastebin.com to paste it and share the link with us.

Thanks for your patience and cooperation in this matter! We’re here to help you get this sorted.

Hi and thanks for your reply.

I managed to get back the storefront with permalink, somehow changes happened there.

About the performance and woocommerce: unabling other plugins did not make the trick. all woocommerce plugins are up to date, so is my standard theme (twentyseventeen). So, still no change here.

    This is my status report:

    Hi @keulekeulchen

Thanks for your confirmation that even after performing the full conflict test, the issue of your site being slow is still unresolved.

The first step is to determine the root cause. Can you please check the troubleshooting tips in this guide and see if this resolves your issue here?
