Woocommerce Square disconnecting frequently

    Creating a new ticket as requested: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/woocommerce-square-disconnects-every-month-now-every-day/#post-13270486

    A website that is using Woocommerce Square is frequently disconnecting from Square, getting email notifications that say the following:
    “There was a problem with your Square Access Token
    Heads up! There may be a problem with your connection to Square. In order to continue accepting payments, please disconnect and re-connect your site.”

    Also! Because this was happening so frequently and I was unable to figure out an obvious culprit, I turned on debugging on the site and it disconnected earlier this morning (I did login to the site and reconnect it myself at 11:13).
    The following information is from Woocommerce Logs:

    08-26-2020 @ 10:28:47 - No refresh token stored, cannot refresh connection.
08-26-2020 @ 11:13:27 - Access token successfully received.
08-26-2020 @ 11:13:27 - Refresh token successfully received.

  • Given you’re using Autoptimize; is the “also optimize on cart/ checkout” de-activated? If not, do so and re-test maybe?

    @optimizingmatters thanks for that, unfortunately I double checked that and the “Also optimize on cart/checkout” wasn’t checked/active. I did try activating/deactivating though, so we’ll see.

    Similar to other reports, I see that you have Sucuri Security - Auditing, Malware Scanner and Hardening: by Sucuri Inc. plugin active which has Automatic Secret Keys Updater feature. We suspect that when active, it’s somehow encrypting Square tokens and they’re no longer available.

    Can you please disable this feature or the plugin completely and let us know if the issue persists?

    Thanks for that information @treibalen –?I found the setting and disabled the secret keys updater feature. So far I haven’t seen any further issues with the site disconnecting. I’ll be keeping an eye on it and hopefully that resolved the issue!
