Hello. Have a problem on Localhost and VPS server with:

    Server environment
Remote post: wp_remote_post() failed. Contact your hosting provider. 429

I checked that this error exists on a clean WordPress + Woo v4.0.1 with the standard template without any plugins. I use VPS and have a localhost on PC (But this have too 429)

The VPS support service checked the server on issues and found no any problems, and also reported that the cUrl was working well. They asked to contact you (developers) to clarify what needs to be configured and they will configure the server according to the requirement from you.

Please what need ON on server for this work. Thanks
PS. Please Add Option for Disable Admin Dashboard (I use another plugin + Google SEO)

  • Hello @power2009,

Thanks for reaching out on this. A 429 error is related to a component of the site sending too many requests to the server (or localhost). To fix it in WordPress, try one of these 5 methods:

    1. Change your WordPress default login URL
    2. Check whether your HTTPS internal links are causing the issue
    3. Deactivate all your WordPress plugin
    4. Switch to a default WordPress theme
    5. Contact your hosting provider

Regardless of how the error shows in the site, it always means the same thing – there’s a user or a snippet of code that’s overwhelming your server with too many requests. Since this happens on the localserver as well I would suspect a plugin or customization that is related to the theme, a plugin, or a login process.

The best way to find the source of this would be by using a Conflict Test. You can learn more about conflict testing in the WooCommerce.com Documentation:

    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/

I hope this helps! If you have any further questions please feel free to reply to this message and I will get back to you. Thanks!

We haven’t heard back from you on this. I’ll mark this thread as resolved now. If you have any further questions, I recommend creating a new thread.

I’m getting same issue. Tried everything from the list above.
Still getting this error: (no error code)
wp_remote_post() failed. Contact your hosting provider.
This error, I assume, causes my orders to be always on “Pending Payment” status altho money is received via PayPal.

golem1988 – I’m getting the same results as you. Did you resolve the problem? No error code here also but orders are “pending payment” although the money is received via PayPal.
