Last night the plugin automatically updated and after that a customer was unable to complete their order properly. After several attempts it did take her money but still gave her the message that it hadn’t gone through.

I tested it myself and my purchase won’t go through. It says “Sorry, we are unable to process your payment at this time. Please retry later.”

There were no issues before the update. Can I remove the update or what can I do to fix this?

?WooCommerce > Status > Logs – log for my failed test payment…

    2024-02-08T00:04:07+00:00 DEBUG ====Stripe Version: 7.9.2==== ====Start Log==== account ====End Log====

    That’s all it says!

Some plugins have automatically updated to their latest versions on your site- – WooCommerce Stripe Gateway (from version 7.9.1 to 7.9.2)

yeah its working at the moment but I’ll have to cross check stripe with orders for a while to ensure it is taking the right amount.

I have a screenshot but I don’t see where I can upload it

I’m having the exact same issues, card payments are failing over the last 24 hour period. I contacted Stripe support directly and they stated it was an issue with the plugin.

I have now disabled the stripe plugin and enabled paypal card payment option to prevent a further loss in sales.

Would be good to re-enable stripe when this issue gets resolved.

I’m glad to hear it’s working as expected, on your end also!

Feel free to reach back, for anything, with regard to how cross-checking progresses. We’re happy to help.

Big fan of https://snipboard.io/ here, as it literally has the instructions right on the screen, upon opening the site. Then, just copy and paste the link provided there, once the image is uploaded.

Over the weekend the site took 4 CC payments thru stripe successfully, plus one where it took extra few dollars off his card! Over the same time there are also 7 “incomplete” payments in stripe – looks like several people tried to place orders and pay using stripe and it didn’t work so I lost all those sales

Thanks for reaching out, with further details on this, @facepaintworld. Let’s troubleshoot further.

Over the weekend the site took 4 CC payments thru stripe successfully

    Sounds good!

plus one where it took extra few dollars off his card

Could you please share a screenshot of the order’s Edit Order screen, along with the Order Notes section, as exemplified here? Kindly redact sensitive customer information, before posting it here.

Over the same time there are also 7 “incomplete” payments in stripe

Could you please provide us with a screenshot so that we can see what you are describing?

Currently, it sounds like PaymentIntents were created, which is totally normal, for each session. Linked here is some related documentation, from Stripe.

Moreover, I went ahead with checking out the page at https://www.facepaintworld.com.au/checkout/, for investigating further, and Stripe was not among the available payment gateways, at the time of checking. Linked here is a screenshot, for reference.

We await your response to better assist you.

This afternoon I took Stripe off as an option as I think it’s bad for business to have it not working properly. Better they are forced to use paypal until its fixed.

I wish I could just paste the screenshot or upload an image instead of effing around with some other site. Don’t know if this is going to work

this is the order showing it should have cost him $24.60

Thank you for reaching back, clarifying things further, @facepaintworld.

Kindly note that, while a fix is already proposed here, a release date is still not yet added. Feel free to subscribe to it, in order to receive updates on its progress.

The issue, reported at your site, was reported here, for reference. Along with details on how to reproduce it, and work around it.

Meanwhile, we’re happy to assist further in troubleshooting this. Could you please clarify, if you already had a chance to revert to version 7.9.1, and see if the issue persists, or otherwise? Having a recent backup available, along with a local or staging site (to test on, without interrupting sales on the production site) would come in handy in doing so.

I hope that helps, but if you have more questions, let us know.

    We’re happy to help.

this is the details on stripe for this transaction. It took $28.25 and I had to refund him a few dollars

I could see no option for undoing the update. A backup was not done immediately prior to the update as it automatically updated. Is there another way to remove the update?

Thank you for the extra details on this, @facepaintworld.

An error 400 appears in Stripe’s timeline, when the PaymentIntent was created, from what I gather.

Just to be sure, are there any warning or error messages in the account details section, as documented here, or otherwise?

The?WP Rollback?plugin (linked here) might come in handy for reverting to the previous version.

I hope this helps! Looking forward to hearing from you!

lots of incomplete sales since the update. They are orders that never went through, not payment intents that then went through as they are very different amounts to the orders that succeeded. These are customers and sales I have lost since the update. There are no such incompletes before the update, just pages of Succeeded payments that correspond to orders in my store

I don’t know what you mean by error messages in account details section. The link you gave seems to direct me to go to Woocommerce- settings – payments – stripe – settings . The only thing on that page that mentions error messages is the option to log error messages or not. And it says When enabled, payment error logs will be saved to WooCommerce > Status > Logs.

So under WooCommerce > Status > Logs there are a number of fatal errors. the one closest in time to the order in question says this

    2024-02-11T01:04:33+00:00 CRITICAL Uncaught TypeError: call_user_func_array(): Argument #1 ($callback) must be a valid callback, non-static method WPStaging\Backend\Pro\Licensing\Version::daily_version_check() cannot be called statically in /home/facepai1/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php:324 Stack trace: #0 /home/facepai1/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(348): WP_Hook->apply_filters(”, Array) #1 /home/facepai1/public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php(565): WP_Hook->do_action(Array) #2 /home/facepai1/public_html/wp-cron.php(191): do_action_ref_array(‘wpstg_daily_eve…’, Array) #3 {main} thrown in /home/facepai1/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php on line 324
