    Hi,

    I have an issue with WordPress WooCommerce and Stripe pluing

    I have followed other threads and I deleted the webhook in my Stripe and reconnected my WooCommerce site to the Stripe account using the new automatic system.

    I have ‘Payment: Enabled Payout: Enabled Webhook: Enabled’ but a warning saying:

    Warning: The most recent live webhook, received at 2024-09-14 11:03:38 UTC, could not be processed. Reason: The webhook was not signed with the expected signing secret. (The last live webhook to process successfully was timestamped 2024-09-11 17:20:02 UTC.) 

    Is there any fix for this?


    (WooCommerce 9.3.1 with WooCommerce Stripe Gateway 8.6.1.)

    Same problem for me.

    I noticed it through a customer whose order was shown as cancelled but he was up to show me the bank statement of the operation. The payment occured on Saturday and he fortunately received his money back today (and was honest enough to tell me)

    I have blocked the online payments and I currently only allow bank transfers but I am looking for a full solution as well.

    I was told by Stripe that it wouldn’t effect payments. If it does, this is a major issue for the plugin.

    I confirm the payment from and back the customer’s bank account

    But it works again!

    I am not sure what precisely solved the issue, but I tried this:

    • Desactivate / Reactivate the plugin
    • In Woocommerce>Settings>Payments>Payment Methods,
      delete “WooPayments” (not able to save it once moved down after or below Stripe)
    • Clear cache
    • In Woocommerce>Settings>Payments>Payment Methods>Stripe,
      untick all and save
    • Clear cache
    • In Woocommerce>Settings>Payments>Payment Methods>Stripe,
      tick what you need and save
    • Clear cache
    • Get confused with the test mode (on/off)
    • Try real payment
    • Check Payment receipt on Stripe Account (OK!)

    Try this, and clicked ‘Reconfigure webhooks’ and still no luck. I’m still getting the following warning:

    Warning: The most recent live webhook, received at 2024-09-16 17:52:57 UTC, could not be processed. Reason: The webhook was not signed with the expected signing secret. (The last live webhook to process successfully was timestamped 2024-09-11 17:20:02 UTC.)

    Actually I didn’t check the warning yesterday (I was so happy that the payments were going through again) but I just did now and it’s not displayed anymore
    (It has been replaced by “Le dernier ? Webhook ? LIVE traité avec succès a été enregistré à 2024-09-16 18:21:11 UTC.”)

    Are you sure you cleared all the caches? And maybe do a new payment attempt so that there is a new webhook to treat?

    There was a Stripe plugin update today and that seems to have fixed it. I ran a test payment through the TEST MODE and I now see:

    The most recent test webhook, timestamped 2024-09-17 11:13:34 UTC, was processed successfully.

    I’m now waiting for the first real purchase to see whether the normal side works. Currently it says:

    No live webhooks have been received since monitoring began at 2024-09-17 11:11:23 UTC.

    So, I’m guessing it should change after the first purchase. Stay tuned!

    Hi, I just ran my daily checks and the warning has reappeared. I haven’t had a purchase since these issues, so unsure whether its affecting anything.

    Warning: The most recent live webhook, received at 2024-09-18 04:10:36 UTC, could not be processed. Reason: The webhook was not signed with the expected signing secret. (No live webhooks have been processed successfully since monitoring began at 2024-09-17 11:11:23 UTC.)

    Thank you for the update. Have you had a real order ever since to learn if it goes without problems? Or were you able to place a test order with Stripe in test mode before? You could also set up a $1 product to try to make sure the live webhooks are working as expected.

    Please also enable debug mode on your Stripe settings by going to WooCommerce → Settings → Payments → Stripe → Settings → Debug Mode → Log error messages. This will provide more information on the Logs if there are any issues with it.

    HI, I can confirm a payment has been made and the has gone through perfectly. The warning has now disappeared from my settings.

    Hi, I know you wanted me to start a new thread, but the issue is back. I have set this thread to ‘Not Resolved’.

    Today I check the backend in WooCommerce and we have now received 2 payments which have gone through successfully. But I’m still getting this warning.

    Warning: The most recent live webhook, received at 2024-09-24 15:32:58 UTC, could not be processed. Reason: The webhook was not signed with the expected signing secret. (The last live webhook to process successfully was timestamped 2024-09-24 14:40:16 UTC.)?Refresh

    As payments are going through, I’m not overly worried, but do you know why the warning keeps appearing??

    This could be due to a few reasons such as the signing secret being changed in your payment gateway, or an issue with the server processing the webhook.

    Even though your payments are going through, it’s important to resolve this to ensure smooth operation. I suggest you to re-authenticate your Stripe and reconfigure the webhook following this guide: https://woocommerce.com/document/stripe/setup-and-configuration/stripe-webhooks/#reconfiguring
