WooCommerce Subscriptions and PayPal

We are using WooCommerce Subscriptions and the WooCommerce PayPal plugins on the website. When the customer attempts to purchase a subscription product they get the error message “An error occurred while calling the PayPal API”. Before the error would come up and nothing worked. Now the payment actually goes through and the order is taken. Is there a way to make this go away and the customer get a message the order has been received?
