I tried to enable an automated tax option on our site. Based on the store is at Kentucky location we are getting 0.00, even if a customer location is the same.

I chose based on shipping address, enabled Jetpack, calculated as excluded…
Is there a possibility that the plugin is not working with certain woocommerce plugins, or cache plugin? We use a lot of plugins here.

    Any help appreciated,

@sobydesign With Automated Taxes enabled, most of the options should be greyed out and not selectable like this:

If this is not the case, there may be some sort of error or conflict within the site. You said you enabled Jetpack, can you confirm that you have connected it to WordPress.com? If so, please go to WooCommerce > Status > WooCommerce Services and enable the Logging option.

Once logging is enabled, go to the checkout page again and enter an address within the same state of your store’s settings (WooCommerce > Settings > General). If taxes do not appear, then go back to WooCommerce > Status > WooCommerce Services and check the log for an error. The log should be able to be pasted here, if needed.

It could just be Kentucky doesn’t charge tax for online sales, maybe? I thought I had the same problem. Was entering a NC address for a NY store and saw 0.00 for tax rate. When I changed to local city and zip, it charged the tax. So, maybe in Kentucky there is no online tax – you may want to check that out to see if that’s the actual issue.

Everything setup as should be, and still not working for us.
KY charge 6%, so that is not the case.

@sobydesign I did some testing in my site with Paducah, KY 42001 as my store location shipping to Paducah, KY 42003, and I got 6%.

Can you confirm that you have a City, State and Zip set under WooCommerce > Settings > General?

@sobydesign Can you provide a link to a product so we can take a further look?

Right now just standard tax enabled, because of the automatic tax didn’t work.

    Here is a product:

@sobydesign Okay, understandable, as it affects your business.

I’d like for our team to troubleshoot this further, please log in to your account at WooCommerce.com and create a ticket there. Once you have created a ticket, please post the ticket number back here so I can make sure it is followed up on.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
