Woocommerce uncategorized category problem

You can rename it, and it can be hidden from frontend with a small snippet https://gist.github.com/mikejolley/409a5180632535addb93a2ac63576193 It is however usually hidden when empty.

I think the update causes it to default to ‘uncategorized’. Just uncheck the setting in the product page.

I have the same problem, the codesnippet of @mikejolley didn’t solved the problem for me.
In my case also the uncategorized category is empty but still seen…
