    Hi everybody,

I am updating different plugins of my EShop
I have the Version 4.8.0 of Woocommerce and the update proposes to download the version 4.9.2.

I would be happy to download this version but I have also this message which scares me a bit.

Heads up! The versions of the following plugins you’re running haven’t been tested with WooCommerce 4.0. Please update them or confirm compatibility before updating WooCommerce, or you may experience issues:

Plugin Tested up to WooCommerce version
Multi-Carrier Shipping Plugin for WooCommerce Basic 3.5
    WooCommerce Membership 3.4
YITH WooCommerce Minimum Maximum Quantity 3.4.0

I have no clue and don’t know how to know if my version is compatible before updating….

    Best regards,
    Benjamin

    Hi there ??

Firstly, please make sure you have a good backup in place of your full site and database. Most hosting companies have this included in the subscription, but you could also consider using a service like?Jetpack. If something goes wrong, it’s nice to know that you can restore your site.

Afterward, I would recommend you to run a test on a staging site. If you don’t already have a staging site set up where you can run those conflict tests, check with your hosting company as many offer this as part of their packages. Otherwise, you can use a free plugin such as [WP Staging](https://en-ca.www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-staging/) to set one up.

    I hope that helps!

    Hi Ben!

In case that you do not update WooCommerce, you will not get access to the new features & tools, your website may not perform the way it is expected to perform, you will not be able to eliminate bugs, and more importantly, it will keep a door wide open for hackers.

So for those reasons, it is important to keep your plugins and themes up to date.

I hope that makes sense ??
