    Hello @mosyax,

Thank you for reaching out — we’re happy to help!

Could you please if you are able to update/install other plugins than WooCommerce? Could you please share the screenshot of the screen with the error message? You can use https://prnt.sc/ or https://snipboard.io to share screenshots here.

Errors when trying to copy plugin files usually mean there is a problem with file permissions. Here is an article that explains what are file permissions and how you can get them fixed:

You might also reach out to your hosting company for assistance with this.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

    Thanks!

    Hello! Thanks for your reply!
Here’s what I did: I installed the plugin all-in-one-security as you advised and the plugin only revealed a minor discrepancy in wp-config.php (640 was recommended, but there was 644). Then I updated all the existing plugins. And tried to update the woocommerce plugin again. After which a critical error occurred. I contacted the hosting support service, they deactivated one of the plugins (code snippets), since WordPress wrote that the error was related to it: An error of type E_ERROR was caused in line 19 of the file /home4/public_html/wp-content/plugins/code-snippets/php/snippet-ops.php(582) : eval()’d code. Error message: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function is_woocommerce() in /home4/public_html/wp-content/plugins/code-snippets/php/snippet-ops.php(582) : eval()’d code:19
I was able to log into the admin panel, but the WooCommerce plugin was completely gone. I had to make a backup. After that, I tried to update the WooCommerce plugin again with the code snippets plugin disabled, but it started giving errors again:

Update failed: Failed to copy file. woocommerce/assets/css/photoswipe/default-skin/default-skin.css

Update failed: Failed to copy file. woocommerce/includes/admin/class-wc-admin-addons.php

Hosting support responded to me: I have tried my best to fix this issue for your, but I am unable to see any server error on the website. Well, it’s not something we do provide support as it is related to the configuration of script/theme/plugin. Please review the scope of support here: https://www.hostgator.com/help/article/third-party-design-and-script-support. We are a server admin support team. Usually, we manage and support server related issues. so I kindly request you to contact the woocommernce plugin vendor to get help on this issue.

And I don’t understand what to do now. Help me please. ??

    Hey @mosyax ,

Thanks for the update, and I’m sorry to hear that you’re still having issues updating WooCommerce!

If you’ve checked the file permissions, and those look good, it’s possible that there may be another conflict happening here.

However, before running through a full conflict test, I think the best approach would be deleting WooCommerce,?downloading a fresh copy here, and then installing that to see if it makes any difference?

If it doesn’t resolve the issue, since its possible a conflict is at play here, it may be helpful to deactivate all plugins, reinstall WooCommerce and then reactivate all other plugins, one-by-one until the issue pops up. Here is more info on how to test for conflicts:?

    https://woo.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/

Just to add?– deleting the WooCommerce plugin will not affect your WooCommerce data in any way, all orders, customers, etc will still be there once WooCommerce has been reinstalled.

Please let us know how this goes!

Hello! Thank you very much for your help. I deleted WooCommerce. Reinstalled it. Everything worked. However, there was a problem with adding a product to the cart (the product did not appear on the page cart). By the method of elimination, I found out that the problem goes away when deactivating the plugin Facebook for WooCommerce. I deleted it, installed it again and everything worked.
Tell me please, why could this situation happen? Damage to some files? What could have damaged them?

Thanks again so much for your help!

    Hello @mosyax,

Glad to hear that reinstalling WooCommerce and the Facebook for WooCommerce plugin resolved the issues for you.

Regarding your question about why this might have happened, there are a few possibilities:

    • Temporary file corruption or caching issues
    • Incompatibility with other plugins or themes
    • Data inconsistencies during updates or installations.

It’s worth noting that while these instances are not common, they can happen, and regularly maintaining site backups ensures that you can restore your site to a functioning state if needed.

Please let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help or if you have any questions.

    Cheers!
