    Hi,
I’ve translated my shop’s front page (domain.com/shop), checkout and product pages etc. English is main language, French is secondary. When I click on the language switcher (to switch to French) while on a product page, it will try to go to a page domain.com/fr/produit/product1 while the actual product page is domain.com/products/product1. In other words, it translates the word “products” in the URL, and goes to a 404 page. When I change it manually to domain/fr/products/product1, it works.

What should I do to make it work?

    Thanks in advance

Also, I have set the WP permalinks to Post name, which should be Pretty permalinks, right? For Product permalinks, I put Default which automatically shows as Custom base: “product/” the next time I visit the Permalinks page in the backend. Under the Optional title, the two lines concerning WooCommerce are:

    Product category base product-category
    Product tag base product-tag

Perhaps this info is of any help. I’ve tried to think of a solution for quite some time now..

    Hi,

That translation ‘produit’ comes directly from WooCommerce. It is just triggered when you change the language.

You can try to resave the permalinks from WP Dashboard –> Settings –> Permalinks, clear the cache and see if it works.
The 404 error is treated also on our troubleshooting page -> “404 error when accessing a translated page” section: https://translatepress.com/docs/troubleshooting.

Yes, I’ve seen that answer a few times here on the forum while I was searching for a solution and tried to re-save permalinks but didn’t help much unfortunately. These translated urls do not lead to the product page ??

Since this looks a lot like a conflict with some other code, the next recommended step is the conflict test :
*Briefly* disable all other plugins, except TranslatePress and WooCommerce, and enable the default Twenty Twenty theme. Please also disable all add-ons. If this fixes the problem, as it probably will, enable everything one by one, checking each time to see when the problem returns.

Since more than 5 days have passed since you received instructions about the opened topic, and you did not return with an update, we will mark this ticket as successfully resolved.

Well, yeah, I’ve been super busy and haven’t managed to try anything but I’ll try disabling plugins and write here if it worked. Thanks for the suggestion.
