• This had been working, and it stopped and I can’t figure what I changed.

My product is 15. But shipping is 4. This is set up in the “shipping” section of Woocommerce.

But paypal seems to only charge 15, not 19. And I get this error:

“Validation error: PayPal amounts do not match (gross 15.00). Order status changed from Pending Payment to On Hold.”

It works with the Stripe gateway. Why won’t the right amount go to Paypal?

I fixed it by going into my PayPal account and deleting the shipping methods (domestic and international). That was under Shipping Methods.

I also unchecked everything under shipping preferences where it asked me where it should show the “ship” button. I unchecked all that.

Now paypal accepts the shipping charges.

    This was infuriating.

Thank you WillieB! You saved me some time and anguish.

Infuriating indeed! Something about the new WC release tripped up this issue in PayPal? Why my client had those super basic shipping methods in the first place is beyond us… perhaps PayPal includes them to provide a quick sample to users….
