WooCommerce visual composer page editor for easy to customise homepage

Hi!

So I really need to setup an easy to modify homepage backend on a site that uses WooCommerce theme.

I can create a homepage using HTML but obviously means client cannot change it themselves after I’m done therefore I need to use something like a page editor or another plugin. The site currently has a page editor called Visual Composer (https://vc.wpbakery.com/?utm_campaign=VCplugin&utm_source=vc_user&utm_medium=frontend_editor) however it doesn’t work, doesn’t add any content properly (the categories/products are all over the place when it’s added onto page) and doesn’t save it either. I believe it could be because we haven’t bought it yet however it says ‘try it for free’ and when we do it doesn’t work. So my questions are:

1.How do I know that it will work correctly if we do buy it and
2. Should we buy Visual Composer or is there another plugin (free?) that’s better and will do the exact same job?
