    Hi everyone,

I’ve create an e-commerce website for a client. I created an admin user role for her and changed all the emails in the Settings in Woocommerce to hers when I transferred the site but it seems like my email is still being used for “Thank you for you order” emails as the sender. Now I have her clients replying to me because the reply-to email is wrong. It also seems like the email template settings are not being used (it’s still Woocommerce’s purple color etc).
Does someone know what’s going on?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi @elisagilis,

Please check the email sender options on WP Admin > WooCommerce > Settings > Emails > Email sender options. On that portion of the email settings page you should be able to edit the “From” address for the site.

    Hi @kylemcpheron,

Like I said in my message, I already did that. The “From” name and address are set up to her email. Same goes for all of the other settings on that page (new order email, etc). I also put in her email on the Woocommerce “Inventory” settings page. She’s the new admin of the site, and in the WordPress General settings, it’s her email as well. Still Woocommerce emails are being sent with my email (the one I used to set up the site) instead.

We also used a SMTP plugin for the contact form, and it’s her email there as well.

HI @elisagilis, is the SMTP plugin being used for sending all mail? What happens if you temporarily disable it and place an order? Do the emails get sent to the correct (new) address or to the old one?

    Hi @drwpcom,

I’m guessing it is, as there isn’t an option to chose which emails it sends? I’ll try what you’re suggesting. I just don’t understand how this would be the problem though, since the email in the SMTP plugin is my client’s as well.

Hi @elisagilis. If the issue is happening with WooCommerce, we can help with some troubleshooting steps. However, if you’re using an SMTP plugin, it’s best to check for help with the support for that plugin as they can provide support specific to their plugin..

I am having the same issue with a client site.

The email to send from is set correctly in the settings. But the emails that customers receive come from a different email address I used during testing in the staging environment at some point. We are not using an SMTP plugin at this point.

About 25% of customers do NOT get their order confirmation email, so this is a problem.

Hi @pixelpaprika. It sounds like there may be some caching on your site. Can you try clearing any caches to see if that helps?

If that doesn’t help, the next step is to work through our email FAQ here.

If you don’t make any progress still, then I recommend conflict testing.

Unfortunately, the intermittent nature of this issue may make it difficult to troubleshoot, but this troubleshooting sequence should help.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your reply.

I reset the email address by changing it to a different one and back, and emails are now being sent from the correct email address. Whether this solved any issues with customers not receiving emails, hopefully time will tell.

I am concerned though about the email address mixup and how it wasn’t visible in wordpress. (Caches had been cleared.)

Hi @elisagilis. I’m glad to hear the issue has been resolved. It’s hard to guess what might have caused the issue within your server system. I would guess caching but you mentioned the caches had been cleared.

I’m going to mark this post as resolved. Please start a new thread if you have any other questions.
