WooCommerce wrong tax

WC calculates taxes correct. Trust me. I’ve gotten the math wrong before regarding this and I’ve seen countless others getting the math wrong ?? If you post an example here I’ll provide a second set of eyes to look over the math if you want to.

I have an item with a price of 189:- SEK tax included. Swedish tax is 25%. When I calculate it I go by 189 * 0,25 = 47,25.
According to some people I’ve talked to after creating this post I should instead do it like 189 * 0,20 wich is 37,8. 37,8 is also what WC gets.

An easy explanation on why this is like this would be welcome. I’ve always figured if I buy something for 100:-, 25:- is tax.

Well since you’re entering prices including tax, tax should be 25% of the product price without tax. Product price excluding tax: 189/1,25 = 151,2. 151,2 * 0,25 = 37,8. 37,8 is 25% of 151,2 meaning the price will be 189 including tax ??
